MAINTENANCE AND PRESERVATION OF YOUR JEWELRY by Maria Nunez

All jewelry, regardless of the material, suffers from "oxidation" over time.
This does not always mean that your jewelery will turn a dark color or oxidize.
Obviously, jewelry that is not of good quality, in whole or in part, will tend to darken or oxidize and lose its aesthetic appearance and may even leave stains on your skin.
Jewelry designed in gold or steel does not oxidize, but if not cared for properly, it can lose its original appearance and show duller tones.
In the case of other metals such as silver, their appearance darkens over time, but depending on their purity, their original appearance can be recovered by cleaning them with special products. This "oxidation" is due to the fact that silver, which is a soft material, must be processed through an alloy with other metals, and it will depend on the amount of silver and its purity that the piece retains its original appearance.
With jewelry designed in natural stone, we must also take the same precautions.
To ensure that they retain their appearance, we give you some tips:
- Ensure that they do not come into contact with water, liquids and products such as soaps, creams etc.
- When you are not using them, store them in an organza bag or even better in an anti-oxidation bag.
- Store them in the bag in a dark place or at least where they do not receive direct sunlight.
- Keep them away from heat sources or windows that receive direct sunlight.
- Clean them dry with a microfiber cloth
These tips will help keep it looking like the first day.
Regarding my designs at Numa Accessories, all these tips will be very useful for you because they are made of steel and natural stone.
